Llanharry SPAR and Post Office Relaunches After Fire

Blakemore Retail’s Llanharry SPAR and Post Office reopened on 15th September after extensive fire and water damage forced it to close in April.

The South Wales store underwent a £200,000 refurbishment and relaunched with an improved range of fresh food and food to go. All 13 original colleagues have returned.

Brand new is a County Bridge fresh meat range, a F’Real milkshake and smoothie machine and a Tango Ice Blast slush machine.

The store also features DailyDeli food to go, including a breakfast and lunch range. Sandwich meal deals and Costa coffee are available too.

Store Manager Mike Jones commented: “Losing the store to the fire was devastating for the community and my team, but quick action from local residents helped limit the damage, which we are very grateful for.

“While we have enjoyed working locally in other stores during the past five months, we have all been extremely excited about the relaunch and welcoming back our loyal customers, who we know have also been looking forward to us reopening.

“We will all be working really hard to ensure our customers get the products and services they expect from their local convenience store.”

The store’s convenience offer includes fresh produce, a bakery range and alcoholic drinks. Customers can place orders for home deliveries via the Snappy Shopper online ordering app.

A full range of Post Office services is available, and the SPAR is also an Amazon Hub store, providing a drop-off point for Amazon returns.
