May 14, 2020

This Thursday AFB colleagues participated in the company’s very first online Leading the Blakemore Way session.

The group meeting was the first in a series of 30 - 45-minute live support sessions that will be run over the next few weeks, looking at how colleagues can employ Leading the Blakemore Way tools and techniques in order to be more purposeful and happy.

Business Improvement Manager Dave Hammond, who is running the sessions, commented: “The Covid-19 pandemic has provided many trigger events for our minds to get busy with, which in turn will be impacting on how we lead ourselves and others.

“In our sessions we’re looking at how we can change and choose our purpose, and how we want to be with the circumstance.

“The sessions are firmly centred on supporting colleagues' health and wellbeing, and focus on how you can lead yourself and others effectively and enjoyably through these continuing times of uncertainty and change.”

Thursday’s session was attended by 12 colleagues from different areas of the business, including Retail, Trade Partners, Logistics, IT and HR, and focussed on supporting colleagues in ‘creating purpose and building resilience’.

Here are a couple of screenshots of the Zoom meeting in action:
