Blakemore Retail Continues Snappy Shopper Van Rollout

Blakemore Retail is investing in 40 new delivery vans to keep up with demand for Snappy Shopper home deliveries.

These will add to the existing six acquired in the summer.

This December, vans are being rolled out to 20 more stores. The remainder are scheduled for rollout in February.

Home Shopping Operations Controller Jamie Parkman commented: “Customer demand for home deliveries continues to be strong, with Blakemore Retail receiving an average of more than 2,000 orders on the Snappy Shopper platform each week.

“Of our Snappy Shopper sales, 44% are coming from our vans, so it’s important that we invest further in this area. 

“Having more vans will enable us to keep up with demand and increase our catchment areas so that we can serve more local communities.”

A.F. Blakemore first signed up to the Snappy Shopper app in April. Customers can choose from more than 1,000 SPAR products and get them delivered straight to their door within an hour.

Blakemore Retail currently has more than 70 stores registered on the Snappy Shopper app, including 41 hub stores, which the vans will be assigned to.

The new vans are expected to create circa 120 full- and part-time jobs for drivers and store colleagues.

The 20 stores benefitting from a new van this December include Kidderminster, Sutton on Sea, Bassaleg Road, Beddau, Aberystwyth, Rhyl, Market Harborough, Kings Lynn, Churchill Avenue, Long Sutton, Wombourne, Welland Road, Droitwich, Aldridge, St Lawrence Road, Staplehurst, Grantham, Presteigne, Blacon and Leegomery.
