For the first time, A.F. Blakemore took part in World Cancer Day on Friday 4th February.
The business ran an educational campaign that included sessions with Cancer Research UK and the Robin Cancer Trust to give colleagues the opportunity to learn about different types of cancer and raise awareness of some of the most common symptoms.
Colleagues were encouraged to wear bright colours and donate to charity. Together, more than £1,000 was raised for Cancer Research UK, to help support research to find a cure for cancer.
A total of 154 colleagues also took part in a World Cancer Day Quiz for a chance to win a gift voucher, with the overall winner being named Nikky Ball from Transport.
The company will be marking the day again next year, hoping to raise money for local cancer charities and hospices.
