Join Marie Curie’s National Day of Reflection

A.F. Blakemore is inviting colleagues to join in with Marie Curie’s National Day of Reflection.

The event, which is being hosted by the end-of-life charity on Wednesday 23rd March, is a chance for the UK to come together and deal with the grief of the past two years.

People are invited to take time to connect, supporting the millions who are grieving and remembering the family, friends, neighbours and colleagues lost during the pandemic.

There are a number of ways that Marie Curie is inviting everyone to get involved on the day. You can:

• Sign up to a range of free online talks, which include sessions with advice on how to deal with trauma, anxiety and grief, as well as workshops on yoga and mindfulness: www.mariecurie.org.uk/get-involved/day-of-reflection/talks
   
• Join in with a minute’s silence at 12pm
   
• Help promote the charity’s online resources and support services:

Marie Curie has been SPAR UK’s national charity partner since 2017. Since then, colleagues, retailers and customers have raised more than £2 million for the good cause, the equivalent of 100,000 hours of care from a Marie Curie nurse. 

The money raised has helped Marie Curie to continue providing essential frontline care for people living with terminal illness, as well as support for their loved ones.

Throughout March, Blakemore Retail and independent SPAR stores are supporting Marie Curie’s Great Daffodil Appeal. Stores are fundraising by selling bunches of daffodils and daffodil pins, dressing up in yellow for ‘Go Yellow’ days, hosting raffles and organising other fundraising activities.
