Blakemore Retail has raised more than £40,000 for the NSPCC at its fourth charity ball.

The Spring Ball was held at the Chesford Grange Hotel in Kenilworth on 20th May to celebrate the longstanding partnership between Blakemore Retail and the NSPCC and recognise the fantastic fundraising that takes place across the business each year.

More than 200 people, including suppliers and Blakemore colleagues, attended the event, which was hosted by award-winning stand-up comedian and author Dominic Holland.

Attendees enjoyed a drinks reception and three-course meal before party band SoniQ Empires got them up and dancing the night away.

Funds were raised throughout the evening via games, raffles and auctions offering incredible prizes, including luxury getaways and experience days.

Blakemore Retail Managing Director Matt Teague commented: “I am thrilled that our Spring Ball has been a resounding success, topping off another fantastic year of fundraising for the NSPCC. To have raised over £40,000 is absolutely brilliant and more than we could have hoped for.

“I would like to thank everyone involved in making this year’s ball possible, whether by sponsorship, raffle prizes, donations or organising the event itself.

“We are excited to be entering into our 17th year of partnership with the NSPCC having already raised more than £4 million for their crucial work supporting children across the UK. We are aiming to reach the £5 million landmark by our 18th year, the length of a childhood.”

NSPCC Head of Partnerships Kirsty Lawson commented: “It was lovely to be back at an in-person event after all the disruption of the past two years and especially amazing to kick things off with such a success. The £40,000 raised at this year’s ball is the most we have ever raised through a Blakemore Retail ball.

“The funds raised will go far in helping to support our Speak Out Stay Safe programme, ensuring that primary school children across the UK get to hear crucial safeguarding messages.

“We are so grateful for the dedication and determination of Blakemore Retail staff who have raised over £4 million for the NSPCC over the past 16 years.”

At the event, the NSPCC presented A.F. Blakemore Group Managing Director for Operations Geoff Hallam with an Outstanding Contribution Award for his long-term support of the charity, ahead of his retirement.

The NSPCC provided a fitting video tribute thanking him for his for his exceptional commitment to the cause over the past 16 years, featuring charity CEO Sir Peter Wanless and Childline founder and president Dame Esther Rantzen.
