We supply 100% branded goods across confectionery, beverages (Nescafe), food (Maggi), infant nutrition and cereal categories to name but a few.

Describe your organisation’s partnership with A.F. Blakemore & Son Ltd:

We have a strategic relationship with A.F. Blakemore which has been developed over many years.

We have in place a collaborative growth CIP which yields the incentive from both supplier and retailer to maintain a trusted relationship based on the mutual desire to grow together.

What do you like about working with A.F. Blakemore?

Firstly it has to be the Trading team. They are always available, attentive to suppliers’ needs and go above and beyond to assist you. They are very approachable and make working together a pleasant experience.

Secondly, it is the commitment to the promotional plan and the level of execution you get in-store.  We get timely forecast on core level 1 promotions, we are able to execute our brands in-store in an innovative way, and off the back of that the results are always in line (if not exceeding) expectations.

What is your advice to small producers just starting out?

Get to understand the Blakemore business. Whilst they operate in the way of a disciplined retailer there are two clear segments – independent and company owned.

You need to understand what is important to A.F. Blakemore and how your business objectives can integrate with their business objectives to form a mutually beneficial relationship.

How do you see the future in relation to your partnership with A.F. Blakemore?

We work very closely with A.F. Blakemore and I do not foresee that changing in the future.

A.F. Blakemore are a pleasure to trade with. They understand exactly what it is they want and how they want to get it, and work collaboratively with suppliers to get there. We have seen consistent growth year on year.

The best thing about trading with A.F. Blakemore is that they are realistic in their requirements!
