Covid-19 Vaccination Bus Comes to Willenhall

A.F. Blakemore hosted the Walsall NHS Trust Covid vaccination bus at its Willenhall head office site on 17th August.

A total of 23 people received either a first or second vaccination, 17 of which were employees.

This included colleagues from Ambient, Chilled, Transport, Fleet, Finance, Deign & Shopfitting and Foodservice.

Of the six non-employees vaccinated, two worked at the recycling centre on the Willenhall estate and three were employees’ family members.

Group Health & Safety Manager Paul Sander commented: "The vaccination team consider this to be a very good result, with any number of vaccinations over 12 being considered a successful visit.

"Thank you to everyone who supported the bus visit to ensure that the day was a success."

The business is looking to arrange for the bus to return in eight weeks so that employees who received their first vaccine can have their second jab.

The bus will be offering a walk-in service, so there will be no need to book. The NHS team will be administering the Pfizer jab, and those eligible will be able to receive either a first or second jab.

Colleagues will be updated with arrangements nearer the time.
