Coming Soon: Random Acts of Kindness Week

February 03, 2020

Random Acts of Kindness Week

A.F. Blakemore is set to host its first Random Acts of Kindness Week in February.

The event, which will run from Monday 17th February to Sunday 23rd February, will celebrate equality, inclusion and diversity across A.F. Blakemore and encourage acts of kindness.

Random Acts of Kindness Day is a national celebration that takes place on 17th February every year. However, to encourage inclusivity for part-time colleagues and those working shifts, the company will be celebrating for a whole week.

The event has been organised by A.F. Blakemore’s Equality, Inclusion & Diversity Engagement Group, which will be arranging and celebrating diversity-related events throughout the year.

Demand Planner Rob Perrens, who sits on the EID Engagement Group, commented: “Random Acts of Kindness Week is an opportunity for everyone to do something thoughtful for colleagues and customers.

“The EID Engagement Group has chosen this event to raise awareness of equality, inclusion and diversity because everyone can get involved and show their support for others.

“It is the perfect occasion for A.F. Blakemore to acknowledge colleagues and say a big thank you.”

Acts of kindness might include things like paying compliments to colleagues, writing thoughtful notes, offering drinks, sharing treats, volunteering for a good cause or simply taking the time to listen. In stores colleagues might be able to go the extra mile to help with customers’ shopping.

All colleagues are encouraged to share their acts of kindness with A.F. Blakemore’s social media platforms. Simply mention @AFBCommunity on Twitter or @BlakemoreCommunity on Facebook. Alternatively, email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) with a photo and caption.
