Blakemore Trade Partners Announces Virtual SPAR Retail Show

Blakemore Trade Partners has announced its first-ever virtual SPAR Retail Show.

The conference and trade show event, titled SRS20: New Opportunities, is set to take place on 3rd November, from 9am to 4pm.

BTP will be exploring the new opportunities that have been presented to retailers during uncertain times this year and how SPAR stores can continue to deliver for the local communities they serve.

AFB Group Commercial Managing Director Jerry Marwood commented: “SRS is the cornerstone of our activity each year and we’re delighted that we’re able to host this event during 2020.

“This year has seen our retailers face some unprecedented challenges, but also some fantastic opportunities. AFB has launched new initiatives that are helping stores to thrive and differentiate themselves in the marketplace, and this event is all about these.

“We’ve got a packed agenda of speakers, a trade show featuring all of our key suppliers and our usual selection of deals of the day – just delivered via a new virtual setting.

“Once again, SRS will provide a great opportunity to gain insight into BTP’s strategy, interact with key decision makers within the AFB group and engage with other retailers and suppliers, to find out more about product range, brand activity and new product development.”

During the day, independent retailers, A.F. Blakemore and SPAR UK will be sharing their stories of best practice and experience in growing store sales. The company will be unpacking its strategy on how retailers can retain new customers and sales gained during lockdown, maximise customer spend and improve profitability.

This year’s conference will consist of both semi-live sessions and on-demand sessions that can be watched at leisure.  

The semi-live sessions will include updates on AFB’s strategic plans, County Bridge fresh meat rollout, new food-to-go launch and SPAR UK and SPAR brand plans.

The on-demand sessions will include updates on digital strategy, operational efficiency, value initiatives and must-stock deals of the day.

Key presenters will include AFB Group Commercial Managing Director Jerry Marwood, SPAR UK Managing Director Louise Hoste, Blakemore Retail Managing Director Matt Teague, AFB Food Solutions & Retail Proposition Director Nikki Rogers, AFB Group Marketing Director Sarah Ellis and BTP Sales Director Louis Drake. Attendees will also hear from SPAR retailers Tom Dant and Giles Morrell.  

Retailers will have the opportunity to communicate directly with many of the company’s suppliers, who will be highly visible during the virtual trade show.
