Blakemore Foodservice Set to Recommence Supply to Pubs and Restaurants

April 01, 2021

Blakemore Foodservice

Blakemore Foodservice is getting ready to resume supplying pubs and restaurants ahead of their reopening this month.

The business will be supplying circa 450 Marston’s pubs opening in England on 12th April with outdoor seating.

Bourne Leisure will also be opening some of its takeaway offerings at Haven holiday parks for caravan owners across England on the same date, with the five Welsh Haven sites opening the same outlets for Easter.

Scottish pubs and leisure sites will start to operate on a limited basis from 26th April, but details are still to be confirmed.

In May all of the business’s hospitality sites are expected to once again reopen.

Blakemore Foodservice’s commercial, trading and demand planning teams have been working closely to ensure that stock is aligned to initial demand, and also that suppliers are up and running and ready to trade.

Since the start of January, much time has been spent working with customers to agree on initial opening stock forecasts. Daily calls across the teams continue to put the business in a strong position once again for reopening.

Blakemore Foodservice National Sales Controller Sean Savage commented: “The reopening of the hospitality sector is key to our business. If the UK continues to reopen in line with the government’s timeline and we see a surge in UK staycation and holiday demand, 2021 could be a good year.

“Initially we have a moderate forecast for trading. However, with a little bit of sunshine and the desire of the great British public to get out and about we could see some good uptake.

“When we see pubs open initially from 12th April, we expect them to have limited menus as all dining will still be outdoors and in beer gardens, but as we move from 17th May to 21st June there will be a gradual return to more full menu offerings being made available.”
