Blakemore Trade Partners Welcomes Hockenhull Garages

January 30, 2018

Blakemore Trade Partners would like to welcome to its estate Hockenhull Garages (HGS) – a new petrol station and SPAR convenience store in South Wigston, Leicester.

It is the first forecourt development for the company’s founder and chairman Peter Hockenhull, since he came out of retirement at the age of 76 to assist in running the business with his son Joe, the managing director.

The new site – known as St Peter's – consists of a Shell garage and SPAR convenience store, which has created 10 new jobs. Blakemore Trade Partners supported the project with a £30k investment.

SPAR Daily Deli has been introduced into the store, offering a fantastic bespoke food-to-go offer, which has been created to meet core shopper missions within the store. Fresh bread and fruit are available, as well as the latest Costa coffee machine.

Joe is following in his father’s footsteps and driving the Hockenhull business forward. State-of-the-art pump islands have been installed, with four grades on both sides as well as Adblue pump dispensers.

On weekends, attended service will be available on the forecourt, as well as a hand car wash operation. With an eye on the future, the company has run cables underneath the petrol station so electrical charging points can be installed in the future.

Peter commented: “It’s good to be back – although it’s definitely a more challenging market. I’m looking forward to building a business for the future.”

Peter is now looking to refit his Corby site, with help from Blakemore Trade Partners.
