Community Engagement Report 2016/17 Out Now

A.F. Blakemore has published its Community Engagement Report for 2016/17.

The annual report, developed by the Community Affairs team, illustrates the headline statistics relating to the company’s Blakemore in the Community programme.

This includes the levels of engagement relating to employee volunteering, fundraising and the Blakemore Foundation across the A.F. Blakemore Group.

This is the sixth year that the company has published an annual set of figures for its community activity, and once again the business has achieved record-breaking levels of engagement through employee volunteering and donations made via the Blakemore Foundation.

Here are some key statistics for 2016/17 from the report:

  • 1,237 colleagues were involved in community events (vs 1,058 in 2015/16).
  • Volunteering activity helped support 64,389 members of the community (vs 56,489 in 2015/16).
  • The Blakemore Foundation made 4,765 donations (vs 3,448 in 2015/16).
  • Blakemore Foundation donations totalled £351,300, and feedback from recipients shows that this has helped leverage at least a further £730,690 for local good causes.

The company’s annual community targets for 2017/18 are also listed within the document.
