Blakemore Trade Partners and Blakemore Retail joins forces to help local good cause

A team of 30 colleagues from across Blakemore Trade Partners and Blakemore Retail have donated more than 250 hours of employee time to support a local community allotment. 

Employees consisting of area and regional managers from Blakemore Retail and sales managers and directors from Blakemore Trade Partners combined forces to support Old Hall People Partnership Allotment in Bentley, Walsall.

Volunteers completed tasks including painting planters and a shed, clearing of old allotments, a greenhouse and overgrown land and creating a base for a seating area. The project was led by business development managers George Duffy and area manager Nigel Bostock.

Old Hall People Partnership are a community group based in Bentley, Walsall. The charity was set up originally as a tenants and residents association aiming to make small changes to the local community of Bentley, Walsall. Old Hall Peoples partnership was formed in October 2000. Since forming the charity has gone from strength to strength now managing five community buildings.

A.F. Blakemore Community Affairs Officer Liz Bell said:

“It is great to see two divisions coming together and using their man power to make such a difference in the local community.

“The work that the teams completed on the day, despite the wet and cold weather, was amazing and something they should all be extremely proud of!

“I hope that this motivates other colleagues to get involved in their local communities and make a difference.”
