Blakemore Vehicles Highly Commended at Truckfest

September 28, 2017

Blakemore Logistics colleagues from Hastings have had two of their vehicles highly commended at Truckfest.

Both a Scania tractor unit and Scania rigid vehicle were highly commended in the 'Best Kept Company Owned Working Truck' judging category at Truckfest’s South East event, which took place on September 2nd and 3rd.

A third vehicle, a Mercedes Benz tractor unit, was also entered into the competition.

The vehicles were prepared by HGV Driver Howard Taylor, HGV Driver Anthony Page, Transport Team Leader Luke Morris and Transport Supervisor Dave Philpott.

Hastings General Manager Phil Burton commented: “I’d like to say a big thank you to Dave, Luke, Howard and Anthony, who all spent a lot of their own time organising the day and preparing the trucks for judging.

“The trucks looked fantastic and were a credit to Blakemore Logistics and the SPAR brand. I look forward to a 'Best in show' next year!

“Despite the third vehicle not winning an award, it is an immaculate looking truck that is a credit to driver Howard, who keeps it in superb condition throughout the year.”

Truckfest South East is a two-day transport festival for all the family, with truck displays, fairground rides, monster trucks and live music in the evening.

It was held this year at Hop Farm in Paddock Wood, Kent, and was attended by twenty members of staff from the Hastings depot over the weekend.

Four of them, Dave, Anthony, Luke and Howard (plus Alfie, Dave's son) made a weekend of it and camped at the venue overnight.
