Blakemore Logistics Apprenticeship Programme: Recruiting Now

Blakemore Logistics is looking for new recruits to embark on its Warehouse & Distribution and LGV Transport apprenticeship programmes.

Set up to recruit, retain and develop talent, the Blakemore Logistics Apprenticeship Programme offers a fantastic opportunity for people to learn new skills, increase their earning potential and work in a varied and expansive company that offers no shortage of opportunities to those who wish to succeed.

The business is recruiting all year round, with opportunities across its West Midlands distribution depots. Applicants must be 18 years old or over. 

During the Blakemore Logistics Apprenticeship Programme all apprentices will be given key milestones to work towards.

These milestones will not only serve to develop apprentices' skills and the scope of their role, but also enhance their experience of the programme and provide a greater understanding of the varying roles within the overall business.

Warehouse & Distribution Apprenticeship


The milestones:

  • 2 weeks: Full induction with on-the-job training
  • 12 weeks: Initial role in warehouse assembly
  • 3 months: Progression into a role in loading
  • 6 months: Providing you are on track, a pay increase
  • 9 months: Opportunity to undertake forklift truck training
  • 12 months: Achievement of your Warehouse & Storage Level 2 apprenticeship
  • 2 years: Opportunity to apply for the company’s Warehouse & Distribution Warehouse to Wheels scheme to achieve a full LGV licence and/or attend a Blakemore Logistics People with Potential Day. Successful applicants will attend an ILM Level 2 programme in Leadership and Team Skills and be appointed to a supervisory role

LGV Transport Apprenticeship


The milestones:

  • 2 weeks: Full induction with on-the-job training
  • 6 weeks: Hands-on training to understand the warehouse operations, a week in the transport office and an introduction to the buddy programme
  • 8 weeks: Getting to know an LGV vehicle and the relevant regulations and legislations 
  • 6 months: Medical assessment, driving theory test and application for LGV licence
  • 12 months: Achievement of your LGV licence and full competence in a driving role
  • 2 years: Opportunity to gain a Cat C+E licence
