HR Director Ian Diment to Share Equality & Diversity Strategy

September 18, 2017

A.F. Blakemore Group HR Director Ian Diment will reveal A.F. Blakemore’s new Equality & Diversity strategy at a Women in Wholesale conference.

IanThe event, due to take place on October 19th at the British Library in London, has been organised to support the development and progression of women in the wholesale sector.

Last year A.F. Blakemore launched a ‘Women in Business’ survey to identify the perceptions of females within the business at all levels.

This year the company is embarking on a new set of initiatives to support equality and diversity.

An Equality & Diversity leadership workshop for A.F. Blakemore’s Board of Directors was held in early September, and an Equality & Diversity focus week will take place across the business from October 16th to October 20th.

Ian commented: “Equality and diversity is a subject that we are very passionate about.

"While we are only at the start of our journey, we’re delighted to be able to share our experience to date and the component parts we have identified in developing a holistic E&D strategy.”

Women in Wholesale Chairperson Clare Bocking, Director of Immediate Impact, added: “We are keen to demonstrate how critical it is that senior men champion and support the need for an inclusive talent culture and the role that they play in making a difference.”

The conference is open to women of all levels working in wholesale and middle to senior level men.
