Colleagues Celebrate Hair-raising Halloween

November 01, 2017

A.F. Blakemore colleagues treated their customers to a whole host of ghoulishly good community activities this Halloween.

Staff from across the Blakemore estate hosted a series of frightful fundraisers, donning their scariest outfits in aid of good causes.

Across Blakemore Retail and A.F. Blakemore’s wider SPAR estate, staff raised funds for the NSPCC. Colleagues themed their stores, carved pumpkins, baked treats and set up competitions for a variety of fun days.

Meanwhile, the company’s charitable trust, the Blakemore Foundation, donated £3,630 worth of goods to 84 different Halloween fundraisers.

Donations were awarded across England and Wales through Blakemore Retail SPAR stores and Blakemore Wholesale cash & carry depots. Recipients included schools, sports clubs, community centres and local charities.

Community Affairs Officer Kate Senter said: “Halloween is an extremely popular fundraiser, and this year has been bigger and better than ever. The attention to detail and scale of fundraisers has been astounding.

“I’d like to give recognition to all those involved in Halloween fundraisers, helping to raise vital funds for a good cause and make Halloween glow that bit brighter for their local community.”
