As Blakemore Retail’s food service business continues to expand and move forward, the company is looking for enthusiastic, career-minded individuals with the potential to become managers, supervisors and team leaders of the future.
Blakemore Retail has launched two new apprenticeships: a Level 2 Food Service Team Member apprenticeship and Level 3 Food Service Supervisor apprenticeship.
The business is looking to recruit colleagues onto the programmes who are currently working in Philpotts stores and SPAR food service departments. This includes Subway, Greggs, Insomnia and the company's own food-to-go brands.
The aim is to provide interested staff members with new career opportunities, with those showing promise being given the chance to progress.
The schemes are open to colleagues over 16 years of age and take on average 15 to 18 months to complete.
This qualification is aimed at Philpotts catering assistants who wish to progress to a supervisory role and SPAR food service team members across all brands who wish to progress to a supervisory or team leader role.
The programme will consist of the following elements:
You will work in conjunction with training provider Performance Through People (PTP). They will support you through the programme with monthly visits, and you will also receive support from your line manager, who will be your mentor.
You should discuss this opportunity with your line manager before completing the online application, as you will be asked to confirm that a discussion has taken place as part of the application process.

If you meet the criteria, you will be invited to the next stage of the recruitment process and attend a half-day assessment day in late March. The day will involve various actives either working on your own or in a group.
