Blakemore Food Service has undergone a huge expansion programme in 2010/11 following the launch of a second depot, which has supported a sales growth from £75m to £100m.

The new 80,000 sq ft site in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, is a clear statement of intent for the division to grow and expand its customer base across the north of the UK.  This has also allowed the division’s head office and 69,000 sq ft distribution depot in Walsall, West Midlands, to increasingly focus upon further expansion across the south.

Blakemore Food Service now employs more than 270 people across these two sites and has worked hard over the past 12 months to ensure that the same culture, standards and commitment to customer service are embedded across both depots. 

The division has a proud history of consistently winning and maintaining multi-temperature, food service contracts across the public, multiple and free trade sectors. This success has been built upon the development of a partnership approach with customers via our team of friendly and knowledgeable staff. 

In addition to our strong customer focus, Blakemore Food Service has developed a great team ethos across the workplace and is also committed to making a positive impact across the communities it serves. 

This approach has led to the company picking up numerous external accolades including the Investors in People standard, Business in the Community Big Tick awards and ISO 9001 and 14001 certification.
