Corporate Responsibility
Blakemore Food Service has built a reputation as one of the leading companies of its kind in relation to responsible business practice.
We have a comprehensive business management system in place that has received ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 accreditation for our Quality and Environmental Management Systems.
Blakemore Food Service’s depot at Jamesbridge is also part of Groundwork Black Country’s Business Environmental Charter and has achieved Platinum level status in 2010 and 2011.
As a school dinner provider to local authorities we also take the responsibility of supporting schools very seriously and have placed this at the heart of the company’s well established employee volunteering programme.
Blakemore Food Service pioneered A.F. Blakemore's commitment to community volunteering and was awarded the Business in the Community Big Tick for its educational programme in 2007, 2008 and 2009. It also made an important contribution towards A.F. Blakemore winning an Education Big Tick in 2011.
Our work in regard to schools has included healthy eating workshops, study tours of our premises, the creation of school allotments and practical regeneration activities.
This commitment to corporate responsibility has also had a positive impact upon our employment levels and this is illustrated in our staff survey scores. In 2004/05 both our staff survey response and satisfaction rates stood at 60%. By 2010/11 this had steadily increased year-on-year to a 94% response rate and 76% satisfaction rate.
