Warehouse & Distribution


Blakemore Logistics Warehouse & Distribution Apprenticeship

A.F. Blakemore's Warehouse & Distribution apprenticeship programme is based in a warehouse environment. 

Our apprentices learn key skills including: 

  • How to accurately assemble customer orders
  • How to load goods onto cages and pack goods into crates in a safe manner
  • How to accurately mark and store assembled orders awaiting despatch

The business recruits for this scheme all year round, with the majority of opportunities currently available across its West Midlands distribution depots. 

Applicants for the scheme must be 18 years old or over.

GCSEs in Maths and English at grades A* to D are desirable. 


The Key Milestones and Development Opportunities


  • 2 weeks: Full induction with on-the-job training
  • 12 weeks: Initial role in warehouse assembly
  • 3 months: Progression into a role in loading
  • 6 months: Providing you are on track, a pay increase
  • 9 months: Opportunity to undertake forklift truck training
  • 12 months: Achievement of your Warehouse & Storage Level 2 apprenticeship
  • 2 years: Opportunity to apply for the company’s Warehouse & Distribution Warehouse to Wheels scheme to achieve a full LGV licence and/or attend a Blakemore Logistics People with Potential Day. Successful applicants will attend an ILM Level 2 programme in Leadership and Team Skills and be appointed to a supervisory role
