Conductive Education
£30,300 Donation to the Foundation for Conductive Education
The Blakemore Foundation has donated a total of £30,300 to the Foundation for Conductive Education over the past three years.
The Birmingham based charity provides conductive services for children and adults with motor disorders from birth to old age.
Funding from the Foundation has helped the charity offer an increased range of specialised services and equipment to allow individuals lead more active and independent lives.
The Blakemore Foundation has pledged a further £20,000 worth of funding over the next two years. This will allow the Foundation of Conductive Education to continue to promote and teach activity and independence in all areas of development and learning through a proactive, holistic approach.
The Blakemore Foundation’s Community Affairs Assistant Kate Senter said: “We have provided ongoing support for the Foundation of Conductive Education for a number of years now.
“The centre in Birmingham does a huge amount of valuable work for people with motor disorders and we are proud supporters of this very worthwhile cause.”
Fundraiser for Children’s Services, Louise Watkins added: “Generous donations such as the one from the Blakemore Foundation make a huge contribution to the work that the Foundation for Conductive Education is able to carry out to enhance the life opportunities for children and adults with movement co-ordination difficulties.
“With the support of the Blakemore Foundation, children have been enabled, through taking part in conductive education sessions, to succeed in achieving things that other children take for granted like dressing themselves, colouring with a pencil, standing, walking and talking to their friends.
“We cannot thank the Blakemore Foundation enough for their continued support.”
